about us Luffaproducts.com and Miss Molly |
| Our Luffas: This is a cottage industry, and we're a cottage business. We grow our own luffas on our 2 acre home property in the central valley of California. We're very intrigued by our luffas -- who knew you could grow your own sponges? The plant is very versatile - the leaves can be eaten in a salad (or fed to our pigmy goats), the very young gourds taste like zucchini, and the large gourds are wonderful skin scrubs - or good for pots and pans as well. The plants need a long growing season, as much as 180 days to get a crop of sponges. They are a tropical plant which do well in the long summers of central California. |

Miss Molly: She's an outstanding Australian Shepherd, just 2 years old, and the princess of our house. She guards the luffas responsibly, keeping the elephants and tigers away - we never see any, so she must be doing her job.She loves her toys, her people, her pack, and her cats. It took a while for the cats to love her, but we all manage to live more or less harmoniously. |

| Our Soap: It started as Christmas gifts, but we grew too many Luffas and had to do something with them! We use Essentials brand Moisturizing Clear Glycerin Soap. our colorants and odorants are high quality formulations that are industry standard. We're adding some herbal soaps, many with herbs we grow ourselves. |
